Abstract
Chikungunya virus (CHIKV), a single-stranded, positive-sense RNA alphavirus, is transmitted to humans by infected Aedes mosquitoes. It poses an emerging threat to public health in Aedes-endemic countries and a growing risk to travelers visiting these countries.
